London-headquartered sports media company MinuteMedia Ltd. has acquired sports website The Big Lead, a subsidiary of New York-listed media company Gannett Co., Inc., the companies announced Friday

Founded in 2006 by Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports, The Big Lead is also known as BigLeadSports.

 MinuteMedia is the publisher behind several sports news outlets, including 90min, a soccer website, and 12up, focused on major U.S. sports leagues. The outlets feature curated user-generated content. The company’s content is viewed by more than 80 million unique users a month, according to company data. The company lists Sports Illustrated, USA Today and MSN as partners.
